MyNigeria

MyNigeria is an initiative of AfricansBuildAfrica working to expose children and teenagers age 6-18) to their cultural roots.

Through a cultural exposure platform, MyNigeria inspires these youngsters to be culture inquisitive by creating a learning platform that would deliver the best possible learning opportunity on all aspects of Nigerian culture, however diverse.

The Narrative

MyNigeria Project 2019 - May 26th promises to be a day of patriotism as we embrace the Premier edition of the largest cross cultural show in Nigeria targeted at children 4-18 years old.

Before you can change your environment, you must change your mindset. A negative stereotype theory prevails in the minds and hearts of the average African, most especially the youth. Africa has the youngest population in the world, this means that for change and development effort to make any meaningful and sustainable impact, it must address the youth population (15 - 24 years) directly.

The MyNigeria initiative:

  • - was born out of the vision to speak directly to this mindset;
  • - showcase the beauty, diversity and social wealth of our culture;
  • - create a rich sense of patriotism in the heart of Nigerians;
  • - and is of the model such that it can be replicated in other countries and regions across Africa.
  • Through this initiative, we are targeting young minds to love their country and continent. Only then can any change and development initiative deliver lasting results.
